You are amazing, you know that? Your visits, shares and cookbook purchases have added up to a whopping $299 donation to the Stuart Silverman Endowed Scholarship at the University of South Florida. I am speechless. Hold on, because I think this deserves a BIG, FAT, GIGANTIC FONT, so you can truly appreciate the impact you’ve had on students’ lives:
$299
You did that. You made it happen. And we are so, so thankful.
Throughout 2014, we committed to donating 25 percent of our ad revenue, affiliate fees and cookbook sales, and while that may not add up to much, it makes a difference. And it wouldn’t be possible without your readership.
Just to put it in perspective, your donation could have helped a student pay for:
- Textbooks for 2-3 classes (the average student spends up to $1,200 a year on books, one study found)
- An annual parking pass ($183-$226, depending on whether you live on or off-campus)
- Almost half of a Bullblock 40 Meal Plan (which provides 40 meals for the semester, along with $375 Dining Dollars students can use at any dining location on campus)
- Half a month’s rent
- 1+ undergraduate credit hours
Thank you, Collegiate Cook community, for supporting this blog and its mission. We’re so, so grateful.
And if you wanted to support the USF Gameday Cookbook and you haven’t had a chance, you can find it here on Amazon.
Glad to help towards a worthy cause, but in another light, costs have to come down (I mean, $1,200 per semester for books in the internet age? C’mon…)
