- CVS (Fig Newtons) — Print out this coupon to save $1 on the jam-filled treat, then head to your local CVS, where Figgies are on sale for $1 this week. (I’ll test this on Monday or Tuesday and let you know if I hit any snags.)
- Food, Inc. — Watch the movie for free (until April 29) on the PBS website. Then leave a comment and let me know what you thought of it!
- Kellogg’s(granola bar sample) — Fill out the form for a free FiberPlus chocolate chip granola bar.

Due to the wild popularity of the Tax Day Freebies post, I thought I’d continue the love by creating a regular feature at Collegiate Cook: monthly Deals, Discounts and Freebies (DDFs).
I’ll send alerts via Twitter every time I learn something new, and I welcome any and all alerts you can send my way!
Everything is arranged by date, with “ASAP” indicating those deals that require fast action, since they’re only available in limited quantities.
ASAP:
- Pretzel M&Ms — Try a few bag of ’em before anybody else does. There are about 22,000 bags left to give away, but you have to have a Facebook account to take advantage of this offer. (Click on the M&Ms Pretzel tab to pull up the freebie prompt if it doesn’t come up immediately.)
Anytime:
- Chavrie Goat Cheese — Sign up to get a coupon for free goat cheese.
- Chili’s — Free chips & queso appetizer for signing up for their e-mail club.
- Crest WhiteStrips 3D — Fill out a short signup form and receive free WhiteStrips.
- Einstein’s — Become a Facebook fan of the bagel chain and get a printable coupon for a free bagel on Fridays before 11 a.m., which you can continually reuse until May 22.
- Kraft Macaroni & Cheese — Get a coupon for free Mac & Cheese if you become a Facebook fan of the group and fill out a short form under the “Free Cheesy…” tab.
- McDonald’s — Free small fries every Friday this month, but only at participating stores. It looks like it’s more of a California thing (I’m guessing it’s intended to combat Jack in the Box’s offer, which is a Western chain), but it’s worth calling your local store to find out.
- Moe’s — Free cup of queso for joining Moe’s eWorld online (and get a free burrito on your birthday!). Sign up here.
- Myoplex Chocolate Cream Nutrition Shake — Fill out the form on this website to receive your free shake.
- Nicorette gum — Stave off cigarette cravings with a 20-sample pack of cinnamon surge Nicorette gum.
- TCBY — Free waffle cone if you sign up for TCBY’s e-mail club.
April 16:
- Jack in the Box — Receive a free small fry for visiting any participating Jack in the Box today.
April 17-25:
- All national parks — National park entry fees are waived as part of National Parks Week
April 22 (Earth Day):
- Disney Stores — Take 6 empty soda cans or plastic water bottles to your Disney Store for recycling and get a “Friends for Change” youth-sized baseball cap. Give it to your Camp Rock-loving younger siblings and they’ll adore you forever. Or at least until they grow out of their Jonas Brothers phase.
- Evos — Free organic milkshakes from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. in honor of Earth Day.
- Reynolds Wrap — Starting at 4:22 a.m., you can sign up at the Reynolds website to receive a rebate for foil made from 100 percent recycled aluminum. After signing up, buy the wrap and mail in the receipt/rebate to get your money back.
- Target — Wrap this week’s sales circular around five plastic bags and mail ’em to Terracycle (121 New York Avenue, Trenton, NJ 08368). Target will send you a coupon for $1 off a reusable bag valued at $1.49 or more. Plus, the site says there’s no postage needed to mail the bags in as long as they’re wrapped in the circular page that talks about the promotion. (Psst…if you don’t get the newspaper, you can pick up the circular at your nearest Target store.)

- Baskin Robbins — 31-cent Scoop Night: Get up to three scoops of ice cream for 31 cents each from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at participating stores.
