It wouldn’t be Halloween at Collegiate Cook without a Katy Perry-inspired costume (see Kathy Beth Terry from KP’s “TGIF” video, and her circa-“California Gurls”). It’s not that Katy P. is some kind of joke to us — oh, heck no! — it’s that her video outfits are pretty much the most fun ensembles to pull together since you rocked the Mean Girls look in 2004.
Just expect some giddy, drunken or fangirlin’ friend or passersby to start shouting, “You’re gonna hear me Rooaaaarrrr!” at least 7 times during the night. At least 7.
And maybe 32 others will ask to be the Tarzan to your Jane, but if they’re not up on their music-video knowledge, you can’t blame them. MTV did stop playing vids about a decade ago, and not all people are Vevo addicts like us. (But really. Vevo = the only way we’ll vacuum. Until KP or JT or Brit-Brit comes on, and then we stop vacuuming and stare at the screen like it’s some glorious wonderbox of joy.)
