7 Things to Get You Through the Week

Rough week? We’ve all been there. For those moments when you just want to throw your hands up and scream, we bring you hope in the form of food, viral inspiration, and complete ridiculousness:

1. Kid President’s Pep Talk

What’s your Space Jam? Watch this every morning as soon as you wake up, then write your to-do list. It’s better than a yoga class or a life coach, we pinky promise.

2. Pac Man Pancakes

You know how your mom told you not to play with your food? Well, forget that! Having the freedom to choose to eat cake for dinner means you have the freedom to have a little fun with your breakfast. Just use your favorite pancake recipe — how about this one? Or this one, if you’re in the mood for some bacon-y goodness — and cut a little triangle out of the side of each one. Consider it a taste test. Bonus points if you make him eat a trail of blueberries, cherries, banana slices, or chocolate chips.

3. Society6 wall art

Sure, there’s something classic about that Animal House poster of John Belushi wearing a “College” sweater, but when that’s feeling a little stale — or you just need a 5-minute, make that 15-minute; err, 2-hour study break — scroll the glorious pages upon pages of prints for sale at Society6. We’re mildly obsessed with the “Let’s All Go & Have Breakfast” print above.

4. Oreo truffles

Vegan Cookies & "Cream" Truffles

This truffle gets us — the rich chocolate coating makes us feel grownup and just a little bit sophisticated, while the inside giggles and says, “Do you think they fell for it?” It’s everything you loved growing up, just with a fresh take.

Oh, and did we mention you can make ’em in the microwave? And they’re vegan friendly? Get the recipe: Cookies & “Cream” Oreo Truffles

5. The chance to say “Rabbit, Rabbit” on Friday morning

If you don’t immediately know what we’re talking about, WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR CHILDHOOD? Oh, wait—you weren’t watching Nickelodeon every morning during summer vacation, eagerly awaiting Stick Stickly amusing vignettes and fun facts?

Well, while you were at summer camp, we were watching the only summer camp that mattered (Salute Your Shorts, obvs), and absorbing mid-commercial factoids like, “you’ll have good luck all month if the first thing you say on the first of the month is rabbit rabbit.” (BTW, wikipedia states it’s a British superstition.) So relive the childhood you had — or were deprived of — and try your darndest to utter those words on Friday morning.

6. Super Bowl Sunday

Zany commercials! Nachos! Spinach artichoke dip! Unpredictable halftime show antics! Club sandwiches loaded with bacon! Oh wait, you watch because you’re a fan of the Ravens or 49ers? Well, that’s cool too.
