The CCT: Cranberry, Carrot and Turkey Sandwich

Cranberry, Carrot & Turkey Sandwich

Forget the BLT — it’s overdone. When you’re craving a lunchtime meal that’s totally unlike the standard deli fare, give this sammie a try.

Utensils required: knife

Ingredients:

– 2 slices pumpernickel or multigrain bread

– 2 tablespoons cranberry sauce (the all-natural kind is better than the jelly for this meal)

– 1-2 slices of lettuce (any kind you prefer)

– 3-4 thin slices of roast turkey breast

– 3 tablespoons of shredded carrots (or as much/little as you like)

– 2 tablespoons of bean sprouts (optional)

Time commitment: 5-10 minutes, depending on how much chopping/slicing you need to do beforehand

Steps (makes one sandwich):

1. Spread the cranberry sauce on one piece of bread.

2. Then, on the other slice, add the lettuce, turkey, sprouts and carrots. Top it with the cranberry-coated piece of bread.
